How to Build a Business That Feels as Good as It Grows

The Bottom Line

Read time: 3.5 minutes.

Hey Reader,

Here’s a question every entrepreneur should tattoo on the inside of their brain:

👉 What is the fastest path to get me to the result I want?

Simple question.
Surprisingly rare answer.

Because while most people say they want speed, their actions say otherwise.

They pick the complicated path. The slow path. The “this doesn’t feel right but maybe it’ll pay off one day” path.

Let me just say this upfront:
⚡️ You can go fast. You can go aligned. You can go profitable. You do not have to pick just one.

Let’s break it down.

Step 1: Choose the Fastest Proven Path, Not the Noisiest One

If you have two methods in front of you:

  • Method A gets you to the goal in 2 months
  • Method B gets you there in 12

Which one do you pick?

Exactly. Method A.

But here’s where people get tripped up…
They confuse popular with proven.

Just because everyone in your industry is raving about TikTok funnels or cold DMs or podcast guesting or building a $37 tripwire doesn’t mean that’s your fastest route.

Your fastest route is the one that:
✅ Has already worked for others in your space
✅ Feels doable based on your current skills/resources
✅ Doesn't require reinvention, just execution

You don’t need to outsmart the game. You just need to play the right game well.

Step 2: Pick the Path You Actually Enjoy (Because You’ll Be Repeating It)

Now here’s the part most people miss completely:
⚠️ It’s not just about what works.
⚠️ It’s about what works for you*.

You could have a method that’s fast, effective, and profitable…
But if you wake up every day dreading the work, it won’t last.

I’ve seen it firsthand:
Brilliant marketers who sell high-ticket funnels to people they can’t stand working with.

Yes, the checks are big.
Yes, the results are real.
But behind the scenes? Burnout. Resentment. Misalignment.

So here’s the better question:

👉 What path gets me to the result… that I actually enjoy walking?

Because success isn’t just about getting there, it’s about staying there without losing your sanity.

Step 3: You Get to Make (and Change) the Rules

Now for the fun part.
🎯 You’re the business owner. You make the rules.

My friend Todd Herman puts it like this:

“You choose the field of play.”

But here’s what most business owners do:
They sign up for a tennis match… having never played tennis.
They show up with a baseball bat… and wonder why it’s not working.

Meanwhile, the whole time…
You could have just said:
👉 “Actually, I’m going to play baseball. On my own field. With my own rules. And you pitch until I hit a home run.”

Sounds crazy?
Not in entrepreneurship.
You literally get to make your own terms.

You can say:
✅ I only do joint ventures.
✅ I only sell to this niche.
✅ I only work with people who come in warm.
✅ I only take calls on Tuesdays.
✅ I only sell offers that light me up.

And the best part?
💡 There are people in the world who want to play by your rules.

Step 4: Pivot Permission: You Can Always Change the Game

Let’s say you make a decision today.
You pick a fast, proven, and aligned path.
You go all in.

And four months from now? You hate it.

You know what that means?
🚨 Nothing.

You just change it.

That’s the beauty of business ownership. You don’t need a committee. You don’t need permission. You don’t need to fill out Form 487B to realign your vision.

You just decide.

There’s no failure in pivoting. There’s only staying stuck in a business you hate running because you’re too stubborn to admit it’s time for a switch.

Final Thought: Build a Business That Works for You

Let me leave you with this:

The best business model is not the one that sounds the smartest in theory.
It’s the one that:
✅ Gets you to your goal the fastest
✅ Feels aligned with who you are
✅ Pays you well without draining your soul

That’s it.

So here’s your challenge:
👉 What’s your current path?
👉 Is it fast?
👉 Is it proven?
👉 Is it aligned with what you actually enjoy doing?

If not…
✏️ Rewrite the rules.
🎯 Choose a new game.
🚀 And play to win.

You’re the owner. You’re the architect.
Build the game you actually want to play.

Specifically, how to charge more without feeling like a fraud, fumbling your sales, or curling into the fetal position every time someone asks, “So… how much is it?” Because here’s the deal:You don’t start with high-ticket.You grow into it. And that growth doesn’t come from pulling a number out of thin air or listening to some online bro who tells you, “Just charge $10K, bro.” It comes from one thing: conviction....
